CHARACTER AND MOVIE CLIP LICENSING FOR ADVERTISING
GREAT CAMPAIGNS
DON'T START FROM
SCRATCH THEY BORROW
LIKE A TALENT AGENCY, BUT FOR CHARACTERS AND CLIPS.
We work with advertising agencies and their clients to secure famous characters and film and TV clips for their campaigns. And that's all we do.
License the right IP and you don't just borrow fame, you borrow its fanbase. An audience that already knows it, trusts it and feels something for it, ready for your brand to tap into.
We license characters and clips from film and television, animation, toys and games, famous icons, video games, viral videos, publishing, celebrity estates and more. Whether it's an iconic character or a clip that stops people mid-scroll, we have the experience, knowledge and relationships to make it happen.
As appointed agents for rights holders like Universal, Hasbro, Sesame Workshop and more, we clear the characters and clips you want, with no clearance fees on the IP we represent*, and will be in touch within 24 hours.
ICONIC IP WE’VE PLACED
ACCESS THE IP YOU NEED
When it comes to licensing in advertising, it's who you know and what you know. We have both. As appointed agents we represent Hasbro, Universal Studios, Sesame Workshop, Cloudco Entertainment, Sanrio, King Features and more, and we clear their characters and clips directly, with no clearance fees on anything we represent.
And if we don't represent it, we can usually still license it for you. We work directly with almost every major rights holder there is, including Paramount, Disney, Marvel, Warner Bros., Mattel, MGM, Sony Pictures, SEGA, Lionsgate, Bandai Namco, Fremantle, JoyPixels, the Bruce Lee Estate and Aardman. Clearance fees apply where we don't represent the IP, and we'll tell you where you stand from the first conversation.

LICENSING FAQs
-
There are no fixed costs or rate cards in advertising licensing. Fees vary depending on the IP, territory, media, campaign duration, and how prominently the IP features in the campaign. Different rights holders have different expectations, and those can shift depending on what else they have going on around that IP. Born Licensing can give rough estimates based on previous conversations, so you avoid spending time on a route that's out of budget. We also have the reputation, experience and connections to sell ideas in to rights holders, and we're well placed to negotiate fees that work for everyone.
-
Timelines vary depending on the rights holder, the usage, the creative and complexity of the campaign, and the number of stakeholders involved. Bringing Born Licensing in early helps avoid delays, because we know the right people to speak to. We can also usually tell you upfront whether your timelines are feasible.
-
No. The fact that content is publicly available online doesn't mean it's free to use. Most entertainment content remains protected by copyright and requires permission from the relevant rights holders.
-
If you're expecting the audience to make a connection with an existing IP, the likelihood is you'll need a license. Rights holders are extremely protective of their IP, and you wouldn't want to risk a costly legal battle. We're not lawyers and can't provide legal advice, but we'd always recommend not taking the risk.
-
No. Licenses come with specific terms and conditions. Rights holders define how the IP can be used, where it can appear and for how long, and they approve all creative before it goes live. Born Licensing can guide you through the process from start to finish.
